About The Owners

Willie Docto and Greg Trulson met in 1992 at a log home B&B in West Virginia and in 1996, moved from Washington, DC to Vermont to open their B&B. They bought a single-family home on 86 acres and two years later, opened Moose Meadow. As well as running the lodge, Willie is a classical violinist. Greg, a former computer systems architect, is also a popular Justice of the Peace performing weddings throughout Vermont.

  • The owners, Willie and Greg are wonderful. They treat guests like old friends, are impeccably attentive but never intrusive.
  • Waking up to the smell of coffee brewing, with pancakes and bacon cooking is amazing. Better still, you can wear your dressing gown down to breakfast if you wish!
  • Sitting on the deck, on a rustic rocking chair, just taking in the view.
  • The Treehouse - where we stayed - is supported by two mature pine trees and the view of the pond and forest from it's 29 windows and the balcony is incredible.
  • Curling up in the evening in the living room of the main lodge, next to the woodburner is a treat.
  • The handcrafted lodge style decorations and furnishings in the interior are unique and fascinating.
  • Taking a morning hike up to The Sky Loft - a mountain-top enclosed gazebo with great mountain views really works up an appetite for those pancakes.

  • The log cabin has four guest rooms, decorated with individual themes and handcrafted details. They include the Teddy Bear Room, Creel Room, Duck Room and Mountain View Room.
  • These four rooms have a private bath, log walls, charming handcrafted furnishings and inviting, comfortable beds.
  • In addition, there's a two-storey Treehouse set back from the main lodge, for those people who like to 'glamp' in super-style. Handcrafted from cedar, pine, maple and hemlock, the unique Treehouse has a dining area on the first floor, a queen-sized bedroom and a balcony for taking in the scenery. There is also a private outdoor bathroom on the deck but please note that your own private toilet is nearby in the main house.
  •  In the main lodge, there are two living rooms including wood burning stoves where you can listen to music, play games or watch cable TV with 500 channels.
  • A gourmet breakfast is served at 9am and might include pancakes with blueberry maple syrup, waffles or Grand Marnier French Toast.  Many locally sourced, Vermont-made ingredients are used.
  • There's a kitchen for storing, cooking or heating food
  • For sunny days, an outdoor gas grill
  • If you really must login, there's free WiFi
  • Great for relaxing away those aches and pains, a five-person hot tub is a nice addition.
  • There are various 'packages' available including wedding packages, romantic specials, massage therapy deals, family group rentals, ski deals and more.
