Overlooking the white sandy beach and rugged coastline of Tarifa, with views across to Morocco, Little Stone House was designed to blend in to its amazing setting and exploit those views. Watersports, exploration and relaxation are all possible from this quirky and unique Andalucian beachside holiday home.
The Location
Set in meadows on which the neighbour grazes his donkey, up on a hill above the wild and natural beach of Tarifa – a kite surfers’ mecca – and only 6km from the historic walled town itself, whilst Little Stone House is secluded and surrounded by natural beauty it’s not isolated. Soak up those views and the tranquility or head out and explore nearby beaches and towns – Vejer de La Frontera is less than hour, as is Gibraltar. You can even catch a ferry to Tangiers for the day.
Airports are in Gibraltar (50 mins), Jerez (1hr 30) or Malaga (1hr 45). From each there are public transport options to Tarifa, but the location and the area mean a car is by far your best option.
- The walls of the house are, where possible, glass giving you full access to those views. Where they aren’t glass they’re stone and beautifully organic
- The space is perfectly laid out for relaxed living, with thoughtful seating areas inside and out and everything that you need to hand
- Being up on the hill you get the most stunning coastal views across the Atlantic to Morocco, plus the twinkling lights of Tarifa and Tangiers at night
- You can be in Tarifa in no time, with its ancient walled town and great bars and restaurants to sample
- Nearer, you’ve the long, often windswept, but stunning beach to wander on, or make use of the fantastic kite surfing opportunities
- Jump in the car and 20 minutes away is Bolonia and its lovely beach and traditional beach restaurants
- The simple fact that a stay here can be as much or as little as you want it to be: out exploring somewhere different every day or simply being here

- Separate bunk room for 3 and bathroom through the “Hobbit door”

Ben – who is half Spanish – and Catherine run a cattle and cork farm not far from Tarifa, where they live with their family.
