At the time of writing most of us are in some level of lock down, with no prospect of travelling to other countries in the coming weeks. The west of Cork is a stunning part of Ireland, full of amazing coastline, historic sites and traditional Irish towns. Like Bantry, with its fishing port, markets, great pubs and its sense of history. Right in the heart in one of the towns historic buildings is 14 Wolfe Tone Square. Despite its town centre location it has a huge amount of space, perfect for group suppers or hungover breakfasts.

Rupert and Franck have created something truly special with Le Mas, a stunning French country house for up to 14 if you take the gite, Le Mazet too. The interiors are incredibly stylish yet retain a sense of being a relaxed, family friendly space designed to ensure you get the most out of your holiday here. There’s an open sided barn providing outdoor kitchen and eating space overlooking the private pool. Finca El Frontín, Malaga (sleeps 8)

Along the ocean highway from Malaga and then up into the hills is the lovely town of Competa. The road winds its way up from the coast but once you’re there the views back down to the coast mean you soon forget the journey. Staying at Finca el Frontín is akin to staying in a boutique hotel with its newly renovated interior and beautifully staged terraces. The stunning pool with amazing views forms the focal point of your time here, with an outside kitchen tucked next to it. La Casas del Torero, Vejer de la Frontera (sleeps 10)

Stepping through the front door of this country house close to Vejer de la Frontera and you could be no where else than Andalucia. The interiors are bright and traditional, with cool stone floors and open fireplaces for winter. Split across the main house and separate apartment there’s space to retreat but plenty where you can come together too. There’s the option of a chef’s services whilst you stay which makes for an even more relaxed group holiday.

This amazing collection of apartments makes the ideal setting for bringing together different families in one place. Varying in size but each with its own facilities and renovated beautifully, there’s also lots of shared spaces – including the wonderful pool.
