PAMPERED PARADISE
Throw off your robe and dip into the spectacular seawater pool, indulge in luxurious Thalassotherapy spa treatments and sunbathe by fragrant olive trees, wild rosemary, grapes and figs, at this glorious gay-friendly hotel. A restored 15th century masseria, with beautifully furnished rooms, stunning views and the finest quality food available, this is exclusivity personified.
The Location
Delightfully positioned off the beaten tourist track, the property is near to the quiet, seaside town of Savelletri on the Adriatic coast, in Puglia, half way between Brindisi and Bari (approximately an hour’s drive from both). The hotel itself was once a watchtower and used by the Knights of Malta in the 15th century and sits near an underground natural hot spring, which feeds the Thalassotherapy spa. It’s surrounded by acres of olive groves and is perfectly secluded and peaceful – with access to a private beach – if you choose not to roam further than the hotel grounds. However, it really is worth exploring the wider area, since Puglia is an exceptionally beautiful and special region, renowned for unspoiled scenery, gorgeous sunsets and delicious food and wine.
The small coastal Puglia towns, including pretty Savelletri, are famous for their stunning fresh seafood: grilled octopus, every conceivable fish, squid, prawns and lobster. Borrow some bikes for free from the hotel and amble along the coast at your own pace. The cycling is easy as its all flat and the odd glass of local vino will only improve your nerve! The Italians love their cyclists and show respect, possibly more so than if you are in a car.
To get there, you can fly to Bari Airport or Brindisi Airport from the UK which takes approx 3 hours on a direct flight. The property is a 30 – 40 minute drive from either airport.

- providing much of Italy’s olive oil, wine and fish, Puglia is a food lover’s paradise – at a reasonable price. Think really fresh seafood or lamb spit roast over thyme leaves washed down with a glass of local red
- the hotel has its own beach reserved exclusively to Masseria San Domenico guests, with a panoramic pontoon on the rocks with easy access to the sea, and a corner of white sand overlooking a cove with turquoise and shallow waters. The beach has a restaurant, a bar and an elegant lounge for relaxing. If you were looking for a blowout romantic location for a meal then this is it
