Housed in a converted Georgian townhouse No 1 York is a short walk from the city’s famous Minster, surrounded by the lovely cobbled lanes of The Shambles. It’s an area packed full of cafes, shops and other superb options for whiling away an afternoon. In and around the city there are a myriad of museums and attractions which should work for all ages – think everything from chocolate making to Viking or Air museums.
The city is easily reached by road and rail from most corners of the UK (the station is only a 16 minute walk and the hotel will collect bags for you) and if you’re flying head to Leeds Bradford.
