Tucked away up a cobbled street in the heart of La Herradura, one of the quieter, more traditional seaside villages of the Costa Tropical, is this newly renovated apartment for four.
The Location
La Herradura is a lovely village, clustered around a horseshoe shaped bay with a large beach edged by traditional bars and chiringuitos – the fabulous seafood restaurants Spanish beaches are famed for. The apartment is at the bottom of the old quarter which further up has steep stepped laneways and picture-worthy traditional Spanish architecture. The village has large towns nearby, including Almuñecar, but it’s also the ideal location to explore so much of this beautiful corner of Andalucia.
Drag yourself away from the beach and it’s only an hour to the mind-blowingly stunning Alhambra in Granada. An hour along the coast is cultural and culinary hub of Malaga. Closer there are cute white-washed villages like Frigiliana with its winding cobbled streets or one of the many stunning beaches like Cantarriján, where the waters are crystal clear. This coastline has some of the best diving spots in Spain
You can fly to Malaga, Granada or Almeria and be here in no time.
- Pop out the front door of the block and you have shops and bars literally on your doorstep and the beach less than five minutes walk. No need for a car during your stay!
- The apartment is in a very Spanish part of the town, so your neighbours are working residents – giving you a much more authentic atmosphere
- A day on the beach is so easy and stress free.. no worrying about parking and with loads of eating options you can stay there all day with very little to think about. Just your sun screen and a towel (and even those are provided!!)
- This stretch of coastline is just so lovely and using Granada 6 as a base for exploring the different beaches and cultural highlights makes for a varied holiday
- The apartment is newly and lovingly renovated with an eye on making the most of the light and space

- There is no elevator to the apartment and whilst there are just 14 steps the apartment is not ideal for those less able
Alex and Adrian fell in love with La Herradura in 2016 and moved there from France in 2022, after 18 years owning one of the top yoga retreat centres in the world. They bought and renovated the apartment in 2024 and although they since sold it to a local Spanish couple, Alex continues to manage it for them.
