This charming stylish yet homely and friendly hotel will put a big smile on your face from the moment you arrive…sublime views, fantastic gourmet food and great hosts with joie de vivre.

“The view from the terrace is breathtaking. An ideal place for relaxing and enjoying the peace.” The Sunday Telegraph and check out a 2018 Telegraph review

The Location

A charming small hotel perched on the side of a hill in the small hamlet of Cuq Toulza in the heart of the Midi-Pyrenees region.  Panoramic views at the rear over a beautiful terraced garden and pool towards the distant Pyrenean mountains.

Midway between Toulouse (40km or 40 minute drive) and Castres.  It is also a great base to explore the ancient cities of Albi and Carcasonne.

The nearest airport and train station is in Toulouse

  • The spirit, personality and humour of the place and people. It is very homely and unpretentious
  • The ethics of the owners.  They are one of handful of hotels to be selected for the Alastair Sawday ‘Go Slow France’ for their commitment to the environment and food quality
  • The option of taking one of the two apartments – more private but with access to the pool and gardens as well as the option of booking into the restaurant
  • The enchanting garden nurtured by Armelle with its private areas for quiet contemplation.  Each year she adds new plants bought back from Greece by Andonis and Philippe
  • Dinner alfresco on the terrace – amazing views and food (Red mullet filets, lemon sauce, galzed carrots and creamed leeks as an taster!!) – very romantic
  • Five double en-suite bedrooms, one apartment and village house.  All are different with their own unique rustic charm and character. Most have have wonderful views over the garden towards the Pyrenean Mountain, others the cute hamlet Square.
  • The dining room spills out on to the beautiful terrace with panoramic views.  A wonderful breakfast selection together with the real highlight of the day – the gourmet dinner – are both served here, prepared by Andonis using fresh local ingredients from the market and the veg patch, and complimented with wonderful local wines
  • There’s a lovely communal sitting room with plenty of sofas as well as the seminar room which can be used for yoga and other purposes
  • Heated saltwater swimming pool and terrace
  • Massage facilities (in room or outdoors) plus a hot tub and spa room
  • Beautiful terraced gardens with sunny and shady areas

Philippe and Andonis met in London and then worked together in Paris before falling in love with this region of France.  They gave up good jobs to restore their 18th century presbytery and convert it into the wonderful small charmimg hotel that it is today.

They take a huge pride in their work and clearly enjoy entertaining and hosting.

My partner and I stayed there just one night and loved it! We wished we could have stayed longer and will be back, as it's a good base for a lovely area. The friendly welcome, quality of room, peaceful air and food were all spot-on and much appreciated, especially after a very long drive
