The Location
Olhao is just along the coast from Faro and offers the chance to experience a traditional, Portuguese town with stunning coastline and vibrant cities closeby. Being on the coast means there are beaches and super seafood to experience – some of the largest beaches on the Algarve are a short ferry ride away on the sandbank islands of Ilha da Cultura and Ilha da Armona.
When you´re looking for something more urban, only 15 minutes away is historic and sophisticated Faro, with its cobbled streets, old town, museums and lots of rooftop bars from which to take in the beautiful skyline.
Being this close to Faro means that getting to Casa Rosa is straight forward, with international flights daily to the city’s airport from which you can take a taxi / Uber or hire a car which makes exploring the unspoilt corners of this beautiful part of The Algarve much easier.

Casa Rosa is owned by Colum (from Ireland) and David (from France) who stumbled across Olhao by chance when travelling along the coast from Faro to Tavira. They fell in love with the traditional Portuguese town, the beautiful sea front and long sandy beaches on the Islands opposite. In 2018 they decided to make Olhao their home and found Casa Rosa. After years of planning applications, constructions and delays they finally opened Casa Rosa in 2022.
