Top tips for a stay near Bridport at Mallinson’s Woodland Retreat

We chatted to Guy, the very hands on brains behind the award winning Mallinson’s Woodland Retreat in Dorset to find out what he suggests you plan when you come to stay. This collection of stunning treehouses offering quirky and unusual luxury places to stay providing a true escape to a different pace of life. Plenty of space inside and out. Woodburners. Hot tubs. Glass floors giving unexpected glimpses of the woodland which surrounds you. We’re in love.

Do nothing

Do nothing at all, stay all day in your treehouse, switch off slow down and immerse yourself in nature up in the branches.

Go for a walk

Take a walk on the jurassic coast, southwest path up to golden cap – the highest point on the south coast – great views. Or head further and go to Durdle Door.

Visit Bridport or Lyme Regis

These two towns are easily reached from the woods and offer loads of good places to eat to cater for all tastes. There’s a market on Wednesdays and Saturdays in Bridport – ideally followed by fish in West Bay.

Visit the local pub

Stroll down the lane to our fabulous local pub and restaurant – the Tytherleigh arms.

Have sauna or a soak in the hot tub

Walk our local footpaths in the AONB and return for a treetop sauna and hot tub.
