Summertime B&B escapes in the UK

Summer escapes in the UK, especially right now, can feel like Mission Impossible. Sometimes it can seem like places to stay are super expensive, they’re often booked out years in advance or maybe they might not be the quality you expect for your hard earned cash. Well, let us introduce you to a few of our UK B&Bs which have availability this summer, which represent excellent value for money for the superb quality of accommodation on offer. Be inspired and see where you’ll go Further Afield to visit this summer.
Chillingham Manor, Northumberland

Inland from Alnwick and other coastal hotspots, this intimate and relaxed B&B – which only has three rooms – is ideal for touring this beautiful part of Northumberland. There are country estates and stately homes to discover, historic market towns to wander and that coastline to lose yourself in and blow the cobwebs away. It’s also just a really lovely place to escape to and just relax.

Severnside Press, Gloucestershire

This lovely B&B is brand new this summer (and to Further Afield). In the picturesque Newnham-on-Severn with its lovely views and easy access to explore the Forest of Dean and the rest of Gloucestershire, this lovingly converted Georgian building is now a stylish and tranquil haven of a B&B. Again, just three highly individual and cozy rooms and there’s an offer if you can stay for more two nights or more.

Southcliffe B&B, Lynton, Devon

Devon is one of those ultimate summer destinations that draw the crowds and rightly so. Beautiful coastlines, huge wild and natural areas of untouched natural beauty, a reputation for fabulous food as well as quaint and beautiful towns and villages sprinkled across the county. Opened earlier this year, this classic seaside English B&B offers a lovely (over 16’s only!) escape. Big rooms with lots of light, fabulous hosts full of local knowledge and superb eateries within walking distance.

Manor Town House, Fishguard

Lordy, those views when you stay at Manor Town House alone make a trip to Fishguard worthwhile. However, throw in wonderous beaches and super seafood PLUS the magazine worthy interiors of this B&B and frankly it’s UK staycation heaven. Helen and Chris are great hosts and you can partake of their infamous cream teas overlooking the coastline from the terrace on a sunny day.

Hooppells Toor, Kingston, Devon

We love the simple elegance of the two B&B rooms at this great discovery, set in six acres of stunning Devon countryside. They’re decorated beautifully and have plenty of space for when you want to just chill after a day walking the great routes on the doorstep, or on the beach (which is an easy walk away) maybe before walking to the local pub which has a great food menu.

The Elm Tree, Hundleby, Lincolnshire

Jonathan and Chris have created a real destination in its own right at The Elm Tree, tucked away in the Lincolnshire Wolds. They host intimate weddings, offer smashing afternoon teas and have five nicely styled B&B rooms. Stay here and sample the brilliant breakfast before exploring nearby Spilsby or heading to Anderby Creek and soaking up the sea air.
