Stay with Harvey at his delightfully stylish B&B in the artsy and beautiful town of Alnmouth. The beach here is just two minutes walk away and is truly wonderful; wild and windswept it’s just lovely. Head back to town for great pubs and places to eat.

Old Pear Tree Barn, Cornwall (sleeps 4)


Handy for arriving by train if you don’t fancy taking the car, with Newquay and Torquay both close by, Old Pear Tree Barn has some fantastic walks straight from the front door. There’s also a lovely thatched pub just down the road meaning when you can’t face cooking (in the fabulous kitchen) you can easily pop out for supper. April dates carrying a discount.

Literally on the beach at Whitstable, this modern house is designed to make the most of its views and particularly the AMAZING sunsets. With short breaks available (other than July and August) it’s a great weekend escape or head during the week when the town is quieter. A train ride from London, but you’ve also a designated parking space – very handy in this super popular Kent town.

Great day out: If you fancy an urban fix then the dreaming spires of Oxford are less than an hour away.
