New Places to Stay with Further Afield – Spring 2018

We’re always on the look out for great places to stay which we can share with our travellers and this spring we’re pleased to bring some beautiful new places to your attention.

From French country houses to a B&B on a Maltese island, Scottish guest houses to Italian stunners, we’ve got it covered with this selection or our newest members.

Villa Chic & Villa Chic Petite, Tuscany, Italy

These two stunning villas are perfectly located to explore stunning Tuscany. Ancient cities, rolling hills and amazing food await, as do these stylish villas for six or for two, both of which have light and spacious living areas and (crucially in the Italian summer) their own pools.

Highcliffe House, Devon, England

We love a room with a view and the views from Victorian Highcliffe House are truly stunning. Partake of an award winning breakfast before heading out for a coastal walk, or to explore nearby towns and villages, before heading home to the sanctuary of your spacious and elegant room… with that view!

Dar tal-Kaptan Boutique Maison, Gozo, Malta

Head to Malta and then jump on the ferry to historic and unspoilt Gozo, where you’ll find this lovely guesthouse. Its funky decor, spacious rooms (many with private terraces) and the pool (above) make a stay here a treat! Lie by said pool, explore the island or head back to the mainland for a day trip, before watching the sunset from your terrace. Bliss.

Manoir Laurette, Bordeaux, SW France

We’d describe this small and intimate B&B as “a picture book French country house married with interiors magazine standard decor”. Sounds fancy, but the reality is that its simple and unique style makes it a joy to stay in. Lavender filled gardens surround the pool, making it hard to drag yourself away, but when you do this area is overflowing with history, culture and amazing cuisine.

Carradales, Argyll, Scotland

Argyll is an area so full of stunning countryside, outdoor activities and awe-inspiring coastline that you could spend a lifetime exploring it. We suggest making a start by staying at elegant, Victorian Carradales. The rooms are spacious, with views across the surrounding countryside and you’ve the choice of eating at home in the evenings or walking to nearby eateries. There’s even a dram of whiskey included to get you in the zone.

La Fourniere Ouest, Corbieres, Southern France

A French B&B, but a very different one. Here you’re staying in the only guest room and your host Michael acts as chef, guide and concierge. How better to get under the skin of a new area than to interact with your host on this level? Add to that the house is simply stunning, then it makes perfect sense.

Villa Cukur, Kalkan, Turkey

A family holiday in this villa for six would be a dream. Loads of space – inside and out – tremendous views and a private pool, all less than 15 minutes’ walk from laid back central Kalkan with its bars and restaurants. Watching the boats sail by in the harbour below your terrace could fill your day, but if you must go out how about heading out on a boat trip yourself? Or maybe just pour another drink.
