Hen House or Hop Pickers, Worcestershire

We love these cottages for two in the grounds of Steven and Stephen’s farm just outside of beautiful Tenbury Wells. Both are incredibly cozy and offer the chance to hole up and truly retreat. There’s even a super cinema room on the farm you can book out and have a proper date night during your stay! Both are dog friendly and and easily reached by train for a car-free getaway.

Dyer’s Cottage, Halifax

Take the bus from Halifax city centre (it stops outside) and step into this lovely snug cottage for three adults. Log burner to keep you warm in depths of a Yorkshire winter, for those travelling with Fido there’s a dog friendly pub just down the road, a huge number of film and TV locations to visit close by – including those from the BBC’s Gentleman Jack – all add up to Dyers Cottage being an ideal UK escape.

Nant Awen, Powys

This is a proper family run business with just two cottages on a family farm in rural Powys. There’s plenty of space to unwind and the chance to soak in the hot tub makes for a real treat. The cottages are nicely decorated and are the perfect romantic couples escape. If you don’t fancy driving take the train to nearby Caersws train station and be collected or cycle to your retreat and there’s a local pub within walking distance too.
