Five quirky hotels in London

Check out our selection of individually quirky hotels in wonderful London. Stay in one of these unique places to stay in the capital and explore the city, visit the theatre or simply check in and chill out. We love London and we love these gems, all offering the warm and inclusive welcome you can expect from all of our partners.

Georgian House, Pimlico

Tucked away in the leafy and genteel streets of Pimlico is this individual, family owned London hotel. The style is relaxed elegance and the vibe friendly and welcoming. The hotel is incredibly family friendly, making it a perfect base for visiting London with younger ones. This comes into its own though when you check out the Wizard Chambers – crickey they’re fun! There’s a great on-site restaurant open throughout the day with, where possible, locally sourced ingredients.  Something else we love is their commitment to their community; read our blog on Georgian House hotel’s community projects.

Top Tip: We love their Cheese Afternoon Tea – check it out here https://georgianhousehotel.co.uk/cheese-afternoon-tea/.

The Zetter, Clerkenwell

Thirty years ago who knew Clerkenwell would become the trendy arts hub that it is today. Cool and welcoming London hotel, The Zetter, is right in the heart of the action with galleries, bars and restaurants on its doorstep. In many ways The Zetter is a foodie’s heaven, with the in-house restaurant serving up fab food all day and then the likes of stalwart St John and the hub of Exmouth market close by, you won’t go hungry. The Rooftop suites are a justifiable upgrade and give you that extra bit of luxury.

Top Tip: Through Further Afield you always book direct, but The Zetter really makes it worth while with great offers including weekend deals throughout the year.

Hazlitt’s Hotel, Soho

You don’t get much more central London than this highly individual and super stylish Soho hotel. On Frith Street, just off Soho Square, you quite literally have London’s gay village on your doorstep and pretty much every major highlight of London is walkable from here. Theatreland, museums, restaurants, The South Bank, St Paul’s.. easy. But it’s also an incredible haven of style and tranquility once you’re through the front door. Each of its 30 rooms are individually styled but equally plump and luscious.

Top Tip: The amazing staff here have a black book of contacts which they’ll happily use to try and get you into the best restaurants and clubs in town – just ask.

The Zetter Townhouse, Clerkenwell

Now this place is simply an assault (in a good way) on the senses! We love the opulent and eccentric interior design of this wonderful boutique hotel in the heart of London. With every room different, a cocktail bar and smashing food on offer you might decide to hole up, and who could blame you. But if you venture out you’ve all the attractions of this artsy part of London on your doorstep, including one of our all time favourite  restaurants Moro. As a working part of the city the transport connections across London are plentiful, but it’s also quieter at the weekends which is a nice escape.

Top tip: The Cocktail Bar at The Zetter Townhouse has monthly events with all sorts of entertainment plus pop ups from international bars and renowned bar tenders. Fun if you’re there when one of these is occurring  – check it our here for more details https://www.thezettertownhouse.com/cocktail-events
