Location

With its 26 acres of Capability Brown styled grounds, Stoke Place sits comfortably in the heart of Buckinghamshire, only 30 minutes from central London and 15 minutes from Heathrow. You can catch a train to nearby Gerrards Cross direct from London Marylebone – or if by any chance you are arriving by helicopter, just call Reception for the grid reference.

  • Capability Brown at his best... a fabulous rolling landscape to enjoy at your own pace – or at the (slightly more energised) pace of the in-house personal trainer!
  • The simple pleasures of afternoon tea in the Restaurant after a blustery stroll – and the exquisite food that the Restaurant serves in a wonderfully relaxed fine dining atmosphere.
  • Exploring all the (other...) local historic houses from Windsor to Cliveden, Ascott and Osterley Park, Chiswick House and more. You almost begin to feel as if you belong...
  • The fabulous juxtaposition of jogging around the grounds in the morning and sampling fabulous wine in the evening (Stoke House wine list is one of the top ten in the country) – without a hint of guilt.
  • We loved the generous spirit with which owners embrace and support the work of Great Ormond Street, Ray of Sunshine and other charities close to their heart. From Family Fun Days to Layla the elephant sculpture in the grounds, they get involved.

  • Stoke Place is a magnificent country house consisting of three separate buildings with five types of bedrooms: from luxuriously spacious to cosy bolthole. The decor is classic mix of contemporary comfort with the traditional feel. All rooms have free WiFi, flat screen TVs, access to a substantial film library and of course, stunning views of the grounds.
  • Some of the recently completed ‘Garden Rooms’ located in the old kitchen garden have one full glass wall; and all offer lovely views of the walled and Chef gardens. They also boast underfloor heated walk-in wet rooms.
  • There is one room with specific disabled access and facilities, but staff are more than happy to ensure that disabled visitors have an easy and comfortable stay; and will do all they can to negotiate some of the challenges of an old traditional building.
  • Located in what used to be the stables, Stoke Place has a holistic gym offering a modern workout space with state of the art equipment in beautiful old surroundings. The hotel has an experienced in-house personal trainer (get your trainers on to see the grounds...) and an in-house hair and beauty therapist. In fact there are 360 different packages on offer! And a full spa coming soon...
  • This 4* Hotel (AA Hotel Guide) has been awarded 3 Rosettes from the AA Restaurant Guide and is justifiably proud of its superb eating and drinking facilities. It is recommended in the Michelin Guide and has an impressive score in the Good Food Guide, so settle in for a relaxing, informal (but very special) treat in The Garden Room Restaurant.
