Quaker Hall Barns

Norfolk

Stunning and Spacious.

Quakerhall Barns show what can be achieved when historic agricultural buildings are rescued by 21st century architectural design and contemporary styling. Relaxing, creative, and naturally light, Hall Barn and Quaker Barn are perfect self catering venues for small groups of friends and family who want to escape, celebrate, luxuriate and spread out.  They may also be booked together to sleep up to 17.

Location

The barns are set in private gardens within peaceful rural Norfolk, close to the small market town of Aylsham. They are equidistant from the magnificent Norfolk coastline with its quintessentially English seaside town of Cromer renowned for its sea food, and the natural wildlife habitat of the Norfolk Broads.

In addition the area abounds with stunning country homes and gardens to visit, some managed by the National Trust and others still in private ownership but all open to the public.

About The Owners

Architect, Anthony Hudson and his interior designer wife, Jenny Dale bought the disused barns in 2000 and spent a year converting them into outstanding self catering accommodation.

The barns won both an award from The Royal Institute of British Architects and Civic Trust award for the conversion. With vision and ingenuity they have created relaxing contemporary spaces which stand head and shoulders above the competition. They have also more amazing selfcatering accommodation nearby at Barsham Barns.

  • The sophistication of it all without it being stuffy; vibrancy and calmness in equal measure.
  • The integrity of the conversion which has retained many of the original features and textures including oak beams, flint work and warm brick but then beautifully incorporated contemporary features like marble resin flooring.
  • The proximity of both barns to Quaker’s Hall, a Grade II listed farmhouse which dates from about 1700 and its surrounding magnificent countryside which includes, open fields, woods and water meadows.
  • Things to do and explore including the North Norfolk coast, National Trust properties Blickling and Felbrigg, the Norfolk Broads and the ancient village of Walsingham, seaside town of Wells-next-the-Sea and the market town of Aylsham.
  • The welcome hamper including milk, bread, cereal, wine, biscuits, fruit, cheese, butter and juice.

  • Self catering accommodation. Hall Barn sleeps 8/9 guests and Quaker Barn sleeps 6/8. They can be rented separately or together for that milestone celebration.
  • Inglenook fireplaces are complimented by underfloor heating and wood burning stoves.
  • Kitchens are spacious, fully equipped and perfect for entertaining. Open plan kitchen/dining plan ensure that the chef remains a part of the party.
  • TV, CD player and radios are provided.
