Rural views, boutique shopping

With rolling hills from your bedroom window and fabulous delis and independent shops just a minute’s walk away, Plas Farmhouse is perfect for a country break with a twist of sophistication – and the most delicious breakfasts!

Plas Farmhouse is just at the edge of Narberth, a small, lively town in the heart of Pembrokeshire in West Wales. Close to the Pembrokeshire Coastal National Park, the town offers fabulous walking nearby as well as unique shopping and eateries with a great reputation. The Farmhouse feels buried in the countryside, yet only a stroll from the high street, so you can enjoy the best of both worlds.

Narberth is easy to reach by road with clear instructions from Plas Farmhouse owners or can also be reached by coach or by train – the station is just a few minutes’ drive away.

About The Owners

Julie & Brian moved to Pembrokeshire during the summer of 2006 after spending two years in Ireland. Brian has been travelling to Pembrokeshire since a small boy with his parents and introduced Julie to the area twenty years ago. Plas Farmhouse wasn't previously a B & B so some cosmetic work and installation of the en suite shower room was required. Julie is in charge of the day to day running of the B & B, whilst Brian who is a software engineer working through the week, spends his weekends working on the garden. Julie's background was in training and sales but growing up in the tourist destination of Stratford upon Avon she worked part time whilst in education at a B & B there. This gave her some background knowledge in the day to day running of this kind of business. Both Julie & Brian have travelled, lived & worked in different places in the UK and overseas. This has influenced them in making decisions regarding decor and also enhanced their interest in food, it's origins and quality.

  • Owners Brian and Julie are warm, friendly and relaxing with a sense of fun – and heaps of useful tips on where to go and what to do.
  • A blow out fine dining evening at the Grove – another FurtherAfield property with a restaurant just five minutes’ taxi ride away if you want to enjoy more than a glass of wine.
  • Spoilt for choice, we also made the most of Wales’ most fabulous Spanish Deli UltraComida – a rare treat in the heart of Wales!
  • With an isolated rural feel in the rolling hills – but only a short walk from a delightfully stylish town, Plas Farmhouse is a getaway with perfect connections.

  • Guests have their own entrance to this enchantingly welcoming farmhouse B&B. You feel at home, very comfortable – the ‘best B&B we’ve ever stayed in’ is a familiar TripAdvisor sound bite.
  • There are two double rooms and a single – all with a simple, calm, warm feel that encourages you to let your shoulders drop, sink into the beds and enjoy the peace of the bedroom views.
  • The largest double with a vaulted ceiling has an ensuite shower room; the second double and the single has use of a bathroom (with a bath but no shower) across the landing.
  • All rooms have a TV with built in Freeview and DVD, a radio clock alarm, hairdryer and free WiFi.
  • There is a cosy ‘home-from-home’ sitting room for exclusive use by guests – where you can flop on the sofas or brew up a pot of tea (with fresh milk from the fridge, thoughtfully placed in the corner).
  • The Farmhouse has been awarded the Pembrokeshire Produce Mark – ensuring that breakfasts are made from the finest local (and some organic) ingredients with new produce from locally smoked salmon and popular local marmalade being added to the menu.
  • The sunny walled garden is there to enjoy – whether you are watching lambs in Springtime, red kites circling overhead or bats at dusk, you will be immersed in a peaceful country scene.
  • But if you are after a contrast – you can head off to Narberth high street, just minutes away to check out the fabulous Deli, the delicious tapas or treat yourself in a boutique shop or two. Narberth is a small pretty town with wonderful independent cafes and shops.
