Lime Blossom Cottages

Wrentham, Suffolk, England

Stylish, restful, coastal tardis

Behind its simple, elegant Georgian façade this cottage opens up to provide everything you need in a rural retreat.  Beautifully furnished with a mix of modern, vintage and mid-century classics.  Spacious for a cottage.  Bright.  A library full of great reads.  Space for everyone to disperse throughout the house and its amazing garden without tripping over each other.  All close to wild, open beaches in a village with two decent pubs.  It ticks pretty much every box.

Location

In the village of Wrentham, the cottage is a 40 minute walk from the sandy beach at Covehithe (you can drive in five minutes if you prefer) or a 10 minute drive to ancient Southwold and its classic Suffolk charms.  There you can wander through the shops, take in the pier and sample some great seafood.  The cottage is just off the A12 making it super accessible by road.

About The Owners

Christina and Robert are both talented creatives; Robert works in broadcasting and words, Christina with photography and styling.  They have created a space that reflects their love of the aesthetic, but also of relaxation and escape.  They also own Number Six in Vejer de la Frontera on the southern tip of Spain.

  • The whole house is decorated beautifully and filled with personal objects and books.  It feels like a friend has lent you their house
  • The garden is professionally designed and meanders through herbs, perennials and pebbled areas.  Lovely to look at and even better to sit in
  • We loved the chic industrial style kitchen – it works beautifully in this cosy cottage space
  • A walk through Suffolk countryside to a quiet and unspoilt beach is a rarity to be savoured
  • The double sided wood burner keeps the sitting room and library spaces warm and welcoming throughout the year.  Nod off with one of the classics from the shelves

  • Three bedrooms – two double, one twin -  all classically furnished with top quality bedding
  • There’s a roll top bath in the main bathroom and separate shower room
  • A scrubbed pine kitchen table presides over the open plan kitchen-diner, which has a gas range, dishwasher, washing machine and all the bits and pieces you need
  • There are lots of seating areas, spread out through the sitting room, library and pastel shaded sun room.  In the summer enjoy the summer house in the middle of the garden or the potting shed at the end of the garden
  • Private parking is tucked away at the end of the garden
  • There is Wifi, TV and a CD player with music available.  Mobile reception can erratic, so Christina has put in a landline that can used with prior arrangement
