The Location

Hop Pickers’ House is within easy reach of the gastro town of Ludlow, home to food festivals, fabulous restaurants and a wealth of celebrated local produce.  The house itself is woven into the story of local produce as a travellers hop pickers’ barn.  Welcoming hop pickers for hundreds of years, this secluded space now offers new guests quiet rural luxury.

The ‘town in the orchard’ Tenbury Wells is the closest town if you fancy nipping out for cider or even making a trip to THE REGAL local art deco theatre / cinema.  There are National Trust properties closeby or the Black and White Villages Trail to explore local architecture.  But you might just be tempted to stroll to the BBQ spot in the meadow, a few minutes from your cottage door.

  • The evening strolls, long shadows and secluded tranquility of this romantic spot
  • The peony bed, rambling roses and open meadows are a haven for nature garden enthusiasts
  • The cosy cottage feel boosted with luxurious comfort and plenty of charm
  • Foody excursions to Ludlow markets – washed happily down with truly delicious ciders
  • Lighting the fire, sinking into rocking chairs and feeling secretly snug (if not a bit smug…)
  • Wifi is available so the option of isolation is all yours
  • A king size four poster bed, making breakfast in bed the best (if not the only) way to start the day here
  • Well behaved dogs are welcome so cuddle by the fire with your favourite hound
  • A wood burning stove and central heating ensure you are cosy whatever the weather
  • Roll top freestanding bath, fully equipped kitchen and sofas make stay-at-home days easy if you want to hide away

Steven and Stephen live in Brook Farm, whose garden you are invited to share while you stay.  With nine acres of gardens and a babbling brook, you can relax amongst this gentle nature.  Created as The Heartfelt Garden by the Farm’s former owner, Steven and Stephen proudly nurture the wild beauty of this rural idyll.

  • Compost bins for processing food waste and recycling bins for packaging
  • No paper used in marketing / promotion or correspondence with guests – it’s all done online

Eco-friendly products

  • Eco-friendly cleaning products are used and provided for guests
  • Bio-degradable poo bags are provided for doggie visitors

Local sourcing

Natural environment

Keeping it simple

Guests visit Brook Farm to get away from it all and to experience a relaxing rural idyll, so electrical /gas-powered products which continually use energy are avoided

Delightful character cottage for two. Well equipped, spotlessly clean and appointed tastefully. Fantastic very comfortable four poster. Great shower and quality towels and linen. Peaceful quiet, delightful hosts who even posted back belongings we left behind. Thank you for a great stay and your helpful hints on visiting Ludlow. Highly recommend....
