Elvey Farm

Pluckley, Kent, England

Quiet, pretty and rustic

With plenty of period features and rural peace, gay owned Elvey Farm offers a wide variety of comfortable rooms and suites; a restaurant bursting with local flavours and Kentish wine and all the charm, style and space you might look for in a Civil Partnership venue.

Special Offers

Only an hour and ten mins from Charing Cross, the nearest town of Pluckley is an easy hop from London on the train. You can then catch a pre-ordered taxi to wind down a country lane to Elvey, set in 75 acres of farmland.

It’s a relaxing haven to hang out, but if you are looking to explore, choose between Leeds castle, a day trip to Canterbury, the quirky seaside town of Whitstable (with its amazing seafood) or take a steam train from Tenterden village to Bodiam castle. For the truly adventurous (or honeymooners...), pick a Champagne balloon flight from Headcorn Airfield.

About The Owners

Simon worked in city for several years as training and development manager for Mobil and then for the Learning and Skills Council. No stranger to hospitality, having first hand experience of running a B&B with his mum from the tender age of 14, Simon bought Elvey farm in 2007. He is a natural host – engaging and funny – but perceptive enough to know when you need your own space.

  • Surrounded by wild meadows, it is truly peaceful here... and so dark you really can see the stars. And all so close to London.
  • With rooms in different locations around the farm, you feel private and secluded in your own space – and your dog really is most welcome – owner Simon is a huge dog lover.
  • With lovely loyal staff who have welcomed guests here for many years, it’s easy to make yourself very much at home (with or without the car) – stride out for walks from the door, eat at the local pub or enjoy the great bar and restaurant on the farm and amble back to your room.
  • We loved the relaxed atmosphere of the restaurant and bar. Lots of very tasty seasonal food. We indulged in a delicious ham hock followed by chicken cassoulet washed down with a crisp white Sauvignon Blanc all the way from Kent.
  • If by any chance you are inclined towards the supernatural, you will be fascinated by stories of the resident ghost and Pluckley, famous for being the most haunted town in the UK. If not, it makes a good anecdote...!

  • From the suite with access to the secret garden with private hot tub to snug rooms for two, many with their own private living space, Elvey Farm has 11 comfortable rooms on offer in different converted farm buildings across this rustic, rural property.
  • If you’ve brought man’s best friend, there are five dog friendly suites in the Stables Block, all with new beautiful bespoke bathrooms, vaulted ceilings and their own living area. Each has an entrance opening onto the grounds, so perfect for the hound.
  • Whether you choose to duck under the beams of the ole Kentish Barn, share living space in the Oast House, retire to the Granary or cosy up in the Stables, you are sure to find a room to suit your mood and your budget.
  • Breakfast is a treat with meat so local you can almost spot the breeds in the fields nearby – rented out by the farm with payment in meat!
  • The homely and inviting Restaurant and bar is open seven days a week for guests and non-residents. Fresh Kentish seasonal produce goes down very well with some delicious local wine.
  • For a very tailored and personal wedding or civil partnership experience, the Farm is experienced in event planning with a new all-inclusive wedding package on offer.
