REMEMBER TO MENTION FURTHER AFIELD WHEN BOOKING
Elvey FarmPluckley, Kent, England
Quiet, pretty and rustic
With plenty of period features and rural peace, gay owned Elvey Farm offers a wide variety of comfortable rooms and suites; a restaurant bursting with local flavours and Kentish wine and all the charm, style and space you might look for in a Civil Partnership venue.
Why get married here?
With its bespoke brochure aimed at same sex couples, Elvey Farm positively rejoices in its celebration of Civil Partnerships & same-sex Marriage. While relatively close to London, this remarkable medieval farmstead is easily accessible but wonderfully private too. So, if it’s peace in a rural setting you are seeking – look no further. All that surrounds you here is open countryside and the sound of the birds and the bees.
Be under no doubt – though medieval in origin Elvey Farm offers 21st century luxury and discerning service to anyone deciding to marry here.
What they can provide
Whether it is an intimate wedding for only a few select guests or a party for 120 the farm can easily lend itself to your needs. Ceremonies can take place in either the sixteenth century barn (60 seating or 90 standing) or outside if the weather is kind. For smaller ceremonies (up to 25 guests) an intimate lounge area can be chosen.
Again, where you have your reception depends on the size of your party. A beautifully dressed marquee in the paddock can be used for larger ceremonies and the restaurant for smaller parties. Whatever option you choose, the restaurant team will cater for your needs by producing a menu personal to you and offer suggestions for accompanying wines and other drinks too.
The entire farm is exclusively yours on the night of your wedding. This gives you 10 individually styled luxurious rooms to divide amongst your favoured guests while you retire to the Canterbury Suite with its secret garden and hot tub. Guests can of course arrive the day before and/or stay longer if they so wish.
Florists, photographers, stylists and entertainment options can be recommended by the Elvey Farm team.
Who will look after you and your wedding?
Elvey Farm has years of experience of staging stunning weddings and Civil Partnerships so you are in good hands. You will be appointed one point of contact – either Simon or Elsie. From the initial enquiry, through every stage of the planning and, of course, on the day, they will be with you every step of the way.

This Autumn, Elvey Farm is offering an all-inclusive overnight stay at a spectacular rate. Stay with them during September or October, enjoy a two-course meal and bottle of house wine in The Dining Room, a good night’s sleep and a hearty breakfast before you leave the next day from as little as £152 for two people.
Only an hour and ten mins from Charing Cross, the nearest town of Pluckley is an easy hop from London on the train. You can then catch a pre-ordered taxi to wind down a country lane to Elvey, set in 75 acres of farmland.
It’s a relaxing haven to hang out, but if you are looking to explore, choose between Leeds castle, a day trip to Canterbury, the quirky seaside town of Whitstable (with its amazing seafood) or take a steam train from Tenterden village to Bodiam castle. For the truly adventurous (or honeymooners...), pick a Champagne balloon flight from Headcorn Airfield.
About The Owners
Simon worked in city for several years as training and development manager for Mobil and then for the Learning and Skills Council. No stranger to hospitality, having first hand experience of running a B&B with his mum from the tender age of 14, Simon bought Elvey farm in 2007. He is a natural host – engaging and funny – but perceptive enough to know when you need your own space.
