Domaines de PerchesGaillac, SW France
Tranquil retreat amongst the vines
A beautifully-restored,18th century 'wine chateau', the Domaine de Perches offers the chance to escape to an exclusive and elegant, refined, yet relaxed, retreat. This is both a place to recharge and restore, and the ideal base to discover the riches of this wonderful area of SW France.
After a zen day by the pool, a little exercise on the tennis court, a gentle stroll in the park and amongst the vines, or perhaps a visit to a local market or medieval hill-town, you can sample top-notch cuisine on the terrace, whilst planning your next day with the help of your knowledgeable hosts.
Surrounded by vineyards, Perches has stunning views over a quiet valley of vines, meadows and woods to the rolling countryside of the Gaillac wine region beyond, as far as the Montagne Noire. The shops, restaurants and markets of Castelnau and Gaillac are only a few minutes drive from the house.
Perches is at the heart of the 'Tarn Golden triangle' (Albi - Cordes - Gaillac), famous for picturesque hill-top villages such as Castelnau de Montmiral, the great upland walking country of the Gresigne forest and the top Gaillac vineyards around Cahuzac and Vieux – but the World Heritage city of Albi is the jewel in the crown. All of these are between 10 and 20 minutes drive from Perches.
You can arrive in Toulouse airport, just 40 minutes away, on direct flights from all parts of Europe. Alternatively, you can also reach Toulouse by TGV from Paris, then take a local train to Gaillac station, just 10 minutes from Perches.
