CONTINENTALE HOTEL

Florence, Tuscany

ENCHANTING & ELEGANT

If you haven't already been seduced by Florence, a stay at this incredibly stylish and welcoming hotel will ignite your love affair. Bang in the heart of the city, whether you wish to appreciate the spectacular views, sip cocktails from the rooftop bar, or explore the vibrant area, this glamorous hotel - with a chic vintage vibe - is the place to be.

Special Offers

Florence is the perfect city to explore in a weekend and now's your chance to do just that in style.  The team at Continentale have put together a special three night package including cocktails in the hotel's roof top bar, a gourmet dinner for two and lots of other welcoming touches. Rates starting from  €285 (+taxes) per night depending on the room you choose.

Location

Part of the Ferragamo family's range of properties, the Continentale Hotel is a re-design of a 14th Century building located just footsteps away from Florence's impressive Ponte Vecchio - the oldest of Florence's bridges. There's an awful lot to see from some of the hotel windows (especially the penthouse suite on the top floor, where you can lie in the bath and see all around) and its rooftop bar, which overlooks Ponte Vecchio and the River Arno is the ideal spot for a cocktail.

It's ideally situated for exploring Florence; the Ufizzi Gallery, the Accademia Gallery, the Duomo Museum and - for when you need a breather from art - a fantastic array of shops selling everything from luxury fashion brands to handicrafts and antiques are very close.  Superb restaurants are everywhere, as are cool cafes for the all-important sport of people watching, while sipping an espresso. Plus, if you wish to explore further afield, outside the city, perhaps for a spot of wine tasting, the hotel's concierge is more than happy to oblige. Getting to the hotel from Florence airport is about 10km and takes about 20 minutes in a taxi. The main train station (Firenze SMN) connects to other cities in Italy and Europe (Rome is approx 1 hr 35 mins away). When you're at the hotel, your best bet is to walk or ask the hotel to arrange a taxi.

About The Owners

The Ferragamo family are the last and only fashion brand to own and operate their own hotels. Recently, all the fashion brands have sold their names to the bigger chains. Remember that you are a guest staying at the hotel you will receive a discount when shopping at the Ferragamo store when you use this link:

  • The location is unbeatable. You can get to everywhere you'd want to on foot, which makes it perfect for a city break.
  • The views were stunning. Having a cocktail at the roof top bar and gazing down to Ponte Vecchio and the river or out over the city was wonderful. Also, the crowd that goes there in the evenings, since it's open to the public is very stylish.
  • Relaxation and luxury are in abundance here. Furniture is chic and stylish, the pillows on the bed extra plump, even the lift has cushions!
  • Fantastic staff, always friendly and helpful.
  • We love the decor. With retro fashion photography on the walls, gorgeous handmade leather furniture pieces and modern interiors, it has film-star sophistication.

  • There are a range of 43 rooms available; single, double, superior, prestige Arno view, deluxe Arno view, junior suite Arno view and penthouse consorti Arno view.
  • The interiors are light and cool, mostly white shot through with 1950s pastels to evoke glamour and style.
  • Wi-Fi (free) and satellite TV LCD with Pay TV.
  • Radio, CD player with iPod connection, mini bar and safe.
  • Luxury bath products by Salvatore Ferragamo.
  • The beds have a white muslin curtain around them for a feeling of privacy and the beds are made up with luxury linens.
  • The 'La Terrazza' Bar on the rooftop offers a perfect place to have breakfast or an evening cocktail while enjoying breathtaking views over Ponte Vecchio.
  • The concierge service offers advice on the best jogging or cycling trails in the city, as well as guides to help you discover the best places to eat, shop and sightsee.
  • Within the hotel, there's a gym, a sauna, relaxation room (free to enter) and the White Iris Beauty Spa for luxury treatments. At an additional charge, you can have the beauty treatments in your own room.
  • Room service, laundry and limousine service are all available.
  • Dog friendly but just one and under 10kg approx.
