Location

This renovated second floor luxury apartment (with 39 authentically narrow steps) is located in a 200-year old building in the fashionable Raval area of the old city. It’s very near to the Museum of Contemporary Art and just a few metres from the top end of the main Ramblas, near Placa Catalunya.

The Ravel, formerly the site of the Monastery buildings and home to the amazing Boqueria market, is now a neighbourhood full of galleries and bars and restaurants.

About The Owners

Friends, Paul and Tracey, set up Staying Cool in 2005. They had both worked away from home a fair bit and thought there had to be a better alternative to a boutique hotel (great design, but small rooms and hefty bill) and a serviced apartment (cheaper and more spacious and blandly furnished). So they came up with the concept of Staying Cool: individual apartments for the more independent.

Staying Cool has grown to include an amazing selection of stunning apartments: 14 in Manchester and 17 in Birmingham and a wow penthouse in Devon.

  • Having the best of Barcelona life on the doorstep but returning to the privacy of our own beautiful space with quiet bedroom.
  • The hand-picked furnishings and great design. Spacious, light and contemporary whilst retaining original features.
  • Eating out at the fabulous local restaurants but occasionally eating in and curling up on the sofa to watch a film followed by a stroll down the Ramblas before bed.
  • Blending your own orange juice for breakfast using the free oranges and looking out from the Juliet balcony.
  • While Staying Cool has grown its collection, owners Paul and Tracey,  have retained their ethos of strong and independent design combined with great personal service. No two Staying Cool properties are the same and they use the best of up and coming design talent.
  • They have a Staying Cool green policy which focuses on the three ‘R’s of recycling, reusing and reducing plus they use Ecover products and low energy light bulbs.

  • Luxury self catering apartment. Spacious living/dining area with original tiles and floor to ceiling French doors onto a small Juliette balcony (think Romeo…)
  • Well equipped galley kitchen with dishwasher and expresso machine with locally ground coffee.  
  • A quiet bedroom at the rear; kingsize bed with pocket sprung mattress and memory foam.
